Leadership Club

I am the Leadership Club Sponsor with CoSponsors Russ Clayton and Andrea Hawes  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding membership, leadership training, service hour opportunities, summer leadership tours, and

Community Service Letter

Forms available in Admin 1, Media Center, Magnet Office, Rm 123,414, and 512.  Due April 2nd to Dr. Crooks.  Need 30 Community Service Hours to Letter.  Awards will be presented at the next Lunch and Learn on April 14th.  Hours accrued between April 3-May 27th may also be submitted to Dr. Crooks for credit toward a letter this school year 08-09 and letter/pin may be received at a later time.

Club Membership

Students may see Mr. Clayton, Mrs. Hawes, or me before or after school.  Membership is $25 and includes a t-shirt and all lunches and refreshments during club programs and activities.

Elementary Schools

"SATURDAYS for SUCCESS" program at Sedalia Park.  Wheeler students may receive documented service hours by helping teachers tutor 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders prepare for standardized tests this Spring in the areas of Reading, Mathematics, and Writing.  Come join us each Saturday through the Month of March) from 8:30-11:30am.  Meet in the cafeteria.  Bring your service hours form.

WE are supporting the "INVISIBLE CHILDREN" program during lunch November 7th Students must fill out an application given in HR approved by the 3rd block teacher and returned to boxes in Mrs. McGinnis or Mrs. Gagat's office.  The student will only miss 30 minutes of 3rd block.  there will be 2 presentations presented each at A/B or C/D lunches.This will be excused and is approved by Mr. Thayer if a student follows through the application process with the 3rd block teacher.

Invisible T-shirts are now on sale for $10.  Proceeds will be given to support a school in Uganda. See Dr. Crooks, Mr. Clayton or Ms. Hawes

Learning Links:  Honor students may receive documented service hours by helping tutor in Learning Links in the media center immediately after school every Tuesday and Thursday.  Students will also get service hours by helping with Prep Pals

Leadership Service Awards

Eight students were recognized for exemplary service and leadership within our club's sponsored activities for the Fall semester 2008.  They received a Border's Gift Card and an appreciative "thank you" from our sponsors.
